As someone who struggled to 'sell' their services or products online too, the mindset of intentional relationship building (opposed to selling) and knowing that the others want to hear what I've got (as otherwise they wouldn't be around) really helped.

I am here reading your newsletter because I want to know what you're up to, what you're working on, about the books from the back catalogue, when new stuff is coming out, and when stuff's on sale, and even why I'd absolutely want to pay full price for your books. Tell me 'cause I cannot be online all the time either and I might miss a story or post you shared online so frequent prompts, reminders, or ways of reaching me are needed :/ (but that's also why I signed up to your newsletter! - so I won't miss anything you've got to say or sell) :) :) :)

As for a book rec: Am currently reading Adriana Herrera's HEAT & RUN - a fff paranormal romance novella with an alpha, omega, and beta! It's delicious!

I feel you! I had a robot literally screen me for a part-time editing gig and, wow, the state of the world. But yes to connection anyway.

1. It's possible that I would not have yet read anything this calendar year that wasn't either books by Rachel Reid or HR fics, but fortunate for me, SIX of my favourite authors put out new books in the span of about two months. The convergence was a little crazy. I've enjoyed the 5 of the 6 that I've read so far but my favourite by far was Operation Boyfriend by Zarah Detand. She writes relatively low angst m/m romances that are sexy and satisfying and feel like warm hugs. She is also great on social media (including interacting with her readers) and having read your post, I have even great appreciation for her hustle. Wow!

Movie that moved me: Hamnet (SOB!!!)

Comfort watch: other than HR? Umm... Can't go wrong with Brooklyn 99!

Taskmaster is indeed the best show ever. I'm also enjoying Widow's Bay, where "death by painting" is now roaming around my head looking for real estate. Meanwhile, please continue: to be you, to attempt connection, to be real and honest, to teach me new phrases like Dead Internet Theory. Thank you.
